Supports for Community Living

Wendell Foster’s Campus offers accessible housing to individuals who need a supported home environment through the Supports for Community Living (SCL) program. SCL was developed as a Medicaid waiver program for Kentucky residents, serving as an alternative to institutional care for individuals with mental retardation or developmental disabilities.

This program provides 24-hour staff supervision, focusing on promoting the independence and maximum potential of each individual. Physical, occupational and speech therapies are available as well as behavioral and psychological services. Our adult day training focuses on opportunities to participate in many activities throughout the community, ranging from attending sporting events to visiting local government offices.

The individuals participating in the Supports for Community Living program have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities throughout the community.
